Research topics and funding

Research topics which are being explored currently include:

  • The spinal contribution to the silent period induced by transcranial magnetic stimulation
  • Whole muscle and single fascicle relaxation rates induced by transcranial magnetic stimulation
  • Sex differences in central fatigue and responsiveness of the motor pathway
  • Peripheral fatigue in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
  • The impact of fatigue on sensorimotor function of aerial firefighting pilots (if you intend to click on this link, be forewarned that I am robot-like when I try to “act naturally” in front of a camera. You’ll have to trust me when I say that I do, in fact, have some semblance of a personality)

The research topics mentioned above are being funded by the following sources:

  • Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)
  • Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI)
  • British Columbia Knowledge Development Fund (BCKDF)
  • Mitacs
  • Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada (CARIC)
